Rugby Warriors ready to return

While the league fixtures are only set to start on April 22, club chairman Niko Potgieter is nonetheless encouraged that numbers are looking good and increasing with each practice.

The South Coast Warriors Rugby Club is off to a solid start, with a number of pre-season practice sessions having already been held at Douglas Mitchell Sports Club so far this season.

“We are also hosting a few touring teams in March, as well as preparing for team building weekend away to prepare for the season ahead,” Potgieter said.

The Warriors (firsts and seconds) will be playing in the KZN Rugby Union (KZNRU) First Division South section this year.

“Coaching staff and players are looking forward to getting back to the rugby norm after the long delays of Covid restrictions,” he said.

“We invite all lovers of rugby come and join us or support us as we begin the 2022 season.”

Practices take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm.
