Mahindra lands kob using cracker shrimp bait
With a low tide incoming, the waters were gracious enough to have the fish swimming closer than normal.
After a brief time of an unforeseen ‘oceanic drought’, this week saw South Coast fishermen return to what they do best, reeling in only the finest of catches.
One of this week’s highlights comes off the shores of Port Edward, courtesy of Mahindra Naidoo. With a low tide incoming, the waters were gracious enough to have the fish swimming closer than normal.
Using his loomis shockwave casting edition 12-foot shimano torium 30 maxima, 20 pound marine greenas tackle, Mahindra used cracker shrimp as bait to reel in a 4.5kg kob which measured in 98cm.
At times, overcast conditions, along with some drizzle and slight southwesterly wind made conditions more favourable over the weekend.
