Blue Ocean swimmers excel at Level 2 champs

Blue Ocean Aquatics Swim Club brought home 34 medals from SA Level 2 Regionals Durban held at Kings Park last weekend.
BOA had outstanding performances from their swimmers, to win 13 gold medals, 14 silver medals and seven bronze medals.
There was a huge team effort in winning the relay medals, with the boy’s team winning a gold and two silver medals in the 12 & under relays.
The girls won a gold & silver medal in the 15 & over age group. The mixed medley relay won a bronze medal.
Individual medals where won by Ella Bunge, who took home five gold, three silver and two bronze medals.
Jesse Mather-Pike won her first medal in the 50m freestyle, where she placed second.
Tharien Venter came home with two gold medals and three silver medals, as well as swimming a level 3 qualifying time in the 200m backstroke.
Enzo Raynard won three gold medals, two silver medals and two bronze medals, swimming six personal best times.
Reuben Kunz won his first medals at a swim meet, with gold, silver and bronze in the 50m breaststroke, 100m freestyle and 50m butterfly respectively.
Liam Venter placed second and third in his events, the 200m breaststroke and 200m freestyle respectively.
The performance of Aimeé and Callum Heydricks, Peter Koegelenberg and Benjamin Kunz showed their commitment and dedication at training as between these swimmers there was a 95% improvement on their times.
This goes to show that with hard work, correct coaching, commitment and dedication anything is possible.
