Tuning In: Save upcoming event dates including Shaninlea fundraiser

There's a lot coming up.

Some folk got together at a local restaurant last Sunday – it was Mother’s Day, but strangely enough the restaurant wasn’t busy.

The service was very slow; it took almost two hours for a small Greek salad to arrive. The price: R47 for a very small bowl. The other meals were somewhat disappointing too. Suffice to say that this place will not be visited again. Sad because it has great potential.

A Pennington mom is asking for help for her son, Shawn Schlebusch (14) who is going on tour for the KwaZulu-Natal rugby team ‘Bokkie Week’ for his school.

The cost is R8 500, if anyone is able to assist contact Shawn’s mother.

The Umdoni Park Forest Walk which was planned for Saturday, April 16 will now happen on June 11. Watch this space for information.

Pennington Recreation Club’s very merry Mad Hatter’s party did not happen due to the weather. Another date will be announced. In the meantime, traders who are interested can contact Karen Verleur on 079 2415275.

The fundraiser for Shaninlea is at Umdoni Park Golf Club at R250 per person this Sunday (15th). For more information contact 039 9751615.

Neil McDonald of Khanya Hospice is still requesting a donation of an air conditioner. It would be for one small room. Contact Neil on 083 5978985 if you are able to assist.

Pennington Conservancy advises that they would like to use the Beach Café for more community events, so community members are asked to contact the Beach Café to discuss requirements for clubs and groups. An art exhibition would be such a great idea.
