JUST IN: Tragic ending for missing paddler in the Mzimkhulu River

The alarm was raised when his kayak and cellphone washed up at The Block, near Port Shepstone. 

A full search was launched earlier today (June 4) for a missing paddler, who was kayaking in the Mzimkhulu River.

The man is believed to be in his early 70s.

Glen Preston of Med-Evac said the Saps Search and Rescue, NSRI Shelly Beach and his team from Med-Evac responded to search for the missing man.

Preston. confirmed that his body had been recovered.

This story will be updated as soon as more information comes to light.
