Pothole filler thanked for good deed

Scottburgh locals have noticed that numerous potholes in the area are being filled with sand in an attempt to make the roads more bearable to drive on.

These roads have always been riddled with potholes, but the condition has evidently gone from bad to worse since the April and May flooding.

Locals often took to social media to vent about this situation, but more recently they have used these platforms to instead thank the people fixing them temporarily.

One of the mystery men has now been identified as Sphamandla Gwaza.

He has been seen filling potholes near Scottburgh Mall and a few other roads in that vicinity.

Gwaza mentioned that he is happy to be helping and thanks all who tipped him for doing so.

He is unemployed and doing this good deed has benefitted him too. One social media user has spread the word asking for warm clothing and food to be donated to him when possible, as a way of saying thank you for assisting the community.

Thanks is also extended to individuals/businesses who have contributed to filling potholes in the area.
