UPDATE: All roads reported clear ahead of today’s ‘national shutdown’

So far there are no reports of roads being blocked on the North and South Coast.

Whatsapp groups are abuzz this morning with reports that all roads are clear.

This comes as a national shutdown was reported to be planned today (Friday, June 10) in protest against the high fuel prices.

All roads around the North and South Coast have been reported safe, with no reports of gatherings or lootings at this time.

Yesterday, the South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO), which is the main body representing the taxi industry in the country, has announced that taxis will be operating normally in the province today. (Friday, June 10).

This is an evolving story, and the information may change at any time.
