Youth orchestra to visit South Coast soon
The vision of the KZN Youth Orchestra is to inspire and empower young people to develop their talents as musicians in a classical orchestral environment.
The KZN Youth Orchestra, a talented group of young classical musicians based in Durban, is set to perform at the Margate Retirement Village.
The musicians come from across the province, including Pietermaritzburg, Hilton, Ballito and the Midlands.
Under the leadership of Lykele Temmingh, the conductor, and Cathy Peacock, the young musicians rehearse and perform throughout the school year.
The vision of the KZN Youth Orchestra is to inspire and empower young people to develop their talents as musicians in a classical orchestral environment.
They believe that music is a key element in the rich and diverse cultural identity of South Africa and their wish is to see the diversity of our nation reflected in both their membership, as well as their audiences.
The orchestra will be performing at Margate Retirement Village on Saturday, July 30 in the afternoon.
