Local pilot airlifts injured girl from Wild Coast

An emergency flight had to be undertaken to the Wild Coast, to assist a teenage girl who had hurt her knee last Thursday.

Hendrick Ludick of Airtrack said they were contacted by Lazer Communications to help the Grade 8 learner, who dislocated her knee in the Wild Coast.

Hendrick’s daughter Daniel piloted the helicopter, and the girl on holiday from Durban, was airlifted from Mtentu.

Hendrick, who acted as crew during the flight, said the girl was safely handed over to paramedics from Med-Evac who stabilised her.

She was then transported from Margate Airport to Margate Hospital.
