When the move to Scottburgh was made, Jones began working at Scottburgh Pre Primary School from the middle of 1983 to 1989.

Thereafter, she was at Stan Hampson and Co until 1999, returned to the pre-primary until June 2006 and then worked as the financial secretary at the primary school for 16 years.

Jones spent her last day at the school on June 24.

“I would like to thank all the current and previously retired staff for a wonderful send off with so many great gifts,” she said.

“I will now hopefully give a bit more of my time to the Scottburgh Lifesaving Club and play more golf!”
