Special guests for Stonecroft’s June tea
The next morning tea will be on Friday, August 19.
An uplifting morning of good company, delicious tea treats and inspiring speakers filled the Shelly Beach Methodist Church Hall for Stonecroft’s June meeting ‘My Stonecroft Story’.
Elaine Daly, the chairman of Stonecroft Southern Africa, Jill Sumption, the Christian Women Connect director and Carol Radcliff, the training director spent a week on the South Coast from a cold upcountry.
“What a privilege to be able to learn from them as they shared their stories and knowledge with our guests,” said chairman Vanessa Howard-Tripp.
Laura Vogt had the women painting inspirational messages on rocks to be placed in the community, be it on the beach, in a hairdressing salon or at the local supermarket – as a surprise encouragement to those needing it.
While this was being done, the women were entertained by Rob Vogt, Pete Bartlett and Laura Vogt from the band Rewind. What a treat.
Elaine gave a personal speech on how one could grow up in a Christian environment but veer off into a world far removed from what is Christ-like.
“We may let go of God but God never let’s go of us, so eventually you turn back, repent and live the rewarding life God created us to live,” she said.
A simple encounter with a friend at a Stonecroft morning tea had Elaine engaging on a journey with Stonecroft that has spanned 38 years. “God uses women, where she is, as she is,” she said.
