‘Coats and cans’ to provide winter warmth
Property agents from Re/Max handed clothing, cans and teddy bears Genesis.
It can be overwhelming to think how to help those in need when hunger, unemployment, and homelessness continue to grow each year. These tough and trying times have had a huge impact on people’s lives countrywide.
Here on the South Coast it was truly an emotional time for the RE/MAX Coast and Country team of agents who gathered at Genesis Hope South Africa last Saturday, to hand over a collection done by all five offices on the South Coast.
The “Coats and Cans” collection project was aimed at collecting goods for the local community affected during winter, and after the recent floods.
A cheque to the value of R60 000 was handed last month, and the feedback given on the day was that it has been well used to rebuild a family unit that houses children.
On hand was the owner of RE/MAX Coast and Country and former Protea cricketer, Pat Symcox.
“Working with Genesis to uplift our community ties in with one of the cornerstones of our business and that is supporting local. It is always a proud moment to know our efforts go a long way to helping those in need, and that every one of our 65 agents are involved in the process.”
Symcox also added that Genesis was a shining light on the South Coast and a real leader in what it does and achieves through its many outreach programmes.
