Cheer for children on Mandela Day

Nelson Mandela Day is an annual international day in honour of Nelson Mandela, celebrated each year on July 18.

Members of the Port Shepstone Saps Local Criminal Record Centre (LCRC) began celebrating Nelson Mandela Day on Monday, July 18 as early as 05:00.

The enthusiastic team got up extra early to prepare food for Othandweni Cerebral Palsy Care Centre in Gamalakhe.

The LCRC members, with assistance from generous donors, went to the care centre to spread joy and love to the children and staff.

The day entailed preparing a lunch for them, where they fed the children and spent time with them.

They had a tour of the children’s bedrooms and bathrooms which would benefit greatly with a gas geyser.

The centre is reliant on donations and the generosity of businesses to do the work that they do, and any support would be welcomed.

Anyone who can assist can contact 078 4349905.
