Youth orchestra to perform four concerts on coast
The orchestra is fantastic and a great experience.
The KZN Youth Orchestra is a talented group of young classical musicians, based in Durban.
The musicians come from across the province, including Pietermaritzburg, Hilton, Ballito and the Midlands.
Under the leadership of conductor Lykele Temmingh and Cathy Peacock, the young musicians rehearse and perform throughout the school year.
The vision of the orchestra is to inspire and empower young people to develop their talents as musicians in a classical orchestral environment.
Their repertoire encompasses music form all genres, from baroque and classic to pop, rock and local.
Four concerts will be played on the South Coast this weekend.
Saturday, July 30:
11:00 Educational concert with young musicians at Norwegian Settlers Church.
Noon: Concert for the public, one hour. Tickets R50 each available from Webtickets, Pick n Pay, Genesis Youth Centre and at the door. Call Shelley for more info. 07714171272

Sunday, July 31:
11:30: Concert at Umdoni Retirement Village, Pennington. Tickets there are R80. Contact the RAC office on 039 9759516 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 09:00 and 11:00 to book, or tickets can be bought at the door.
