Police seize homemade gun

Communities are reminded to report criminal activities to police.

A 47 year old man was recently arrested after being found in possession of an unlicensed homemade firearm and ammunition.

Members at Dududu Saps responded to information received last Thursday regarding an illegal firearm on a farm in the Dududu area.

The man handed over the homemade firearm and six rounds of ammunition to police who then arrested him.

He will appear in the Vulamehlo Court in Dududu soon.

Saps makes an urgent appeal to communities, to continue to report criminal activities, especially illegal firearms.

“It will curb the proliferation of illegal firearms if the public continues to report them, as well as hand in unwanted firearms which can be stolen in housebreakings,” said police spokesperson Sergeant Sibu Ncane.
