Party for gin lovers

The festival featured performances from artists such as the winner of Masked Singer South Africa, Holly Rey, Russell Zuma, Dladla Mshunqisi, DJ 101 and more.

It was a ‘gin-tastic’ night when the SA Gin Society held the inaugural Wild Coast Gin Festival at the Wild Coast Sun last weekend.
The festival featured performances from artists such as the winner of Masked Singer South Africa, Holly Rey, Russell Zuma, Dladla Mshunqisi, DJ 101 and more.
Gin lovers also got a chance to taste different types of gin.
Events manager for the SA Gin Society, Mpume Mngadi said this was their first gig at the Wild Coast Sun.
“We are excited to be here. The turnout has been phenomenal. The people at the Wild Coast are amazing with good energy all around. The turnout has to be a highlight. The people were excited to see the line-up of artists we brought to them. This place, its weather and its people are beautiful,” she said.
She added that the SA Gin Society has been running since 2018 saying that is when they had their first event.
Mngadi said when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, they stopped for a while to adhere to the restrictions of the pandemic.
“We are planning on coming back to the Wild Coast with another festival. Basically we go around the country to different provinces to do gin and champagne festivals. So it is always a vibe when we travel, especially a first-time event. So we might return, perhaps for a champagne festival,” she said.
