Successful golf fundraiser for Sheppie Lions
A significant amount of money was raised for the charity.
The organiser of the annual Port Shepstone Lions Charity Golf Day, Sandy Danckwerts thanks golfers, sponsors and businesses who supported the initiative last Saturday.
The 2023 Annual Port Shepstone Lions Charity Golf Day which was held at the Port Shepstone Country Club was hailed as a great success.
It was reported that members of the club manned the Lions stand at the 17th hole where they treated players to light refreshments and plenty of encouragement for the challenging hole that lay ahead of them.
During the official prize-giving ceremony, club president Mike Heathcote expressed gratitude on behalf of the Lions to the main sponsors, Cupboard Venue, the many other sponsors and individuals who contributed so generously and to all the golfers who supported the event.
Heathcote thanked project convener, Sandy Danckwerts for organising the event and sponsorships, Lane Allen for running the auction, all Lions and Lion Ladies who participated and the Port Shepstone Country Club for hosting the event.
Also, a significant amount of money was raised for the charity and the prize-giving ceremony was followed by live music courtesy of Lion Ian Stewart and Peter Barker.
