As South Africa’s most loved bakkie, the Toyota Hilux Legend 55 is a special, limited-edition local model celebrating 55 years of the brand in the country.
It features unique styling with a widebody kit, new alloy wheels, a sports bar and branded elements, but powered by the standard 2.8 GD-6 engine rather than the GR-Sport’s higher-output version. It’s equipped with luxury interior features, including leather seats, a multimedia system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a JBL sound system and advanced safety features.
It is powered by the trusted 2.8 GD-6 turbodiesel engine with 150kW and 500Nm, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. This model is available in both 4×2 and 4×4 options and various body styles.
Halfway Toyota Shelly Beach sales manager Sanjay Dayanand said the Hilux is an expression of the fearless go-anywhere spirit, and it’s equipped with exclusive accessories and badging that lets you know that this is a legend. “It’s a rugged off-road bakkie with proven capabilities, reliability and long-term durability.
