Emergency shutdown: Repairs for Batstone’s Drift low level bridge

Residents are urged to prepare for dry taps this week.

Water will be shut off tomorrow (Tuesday) morning while repair work is done to the leaking pipe on Batstone’s Drift low level bridge.

The pipeline drainage is estimated to be 24 hours – the entire day on Tuesday.

In a statement, Ugu District Municipality said that once the pipe drainage is complete, physical work will begin on Wednesday and is expected to be completed within 48 hours.

Affected reservoirs will be North Shepstone, Melville, Anerley, Woodgrange upper and lower, as well as Fairview.

Residents are urged to store enough supply during this period, and be water wise.
