If your books are organised by the author, you can change them around by the colour of the spine of the book. It  is a fun way to organise your books as you can place them in rainbow order or create a pattern if you want to.

Vary heights and create interest by stacking books horizontally as well as lining them up vertically. If you have volumes that don’t fit with the others, turn their spines to face the wall so only the pages are visible.

Also, you can remove dust jackets from hardcovers if you want a more subtle change that will give your book collection the appearance of an old home library.

Another option is to place the largest and heaviest books at the bottom with the smaller books at the top. Stack books on their sides, some on their ends, leaving space around them to create a neat display. You can also leave room for accessories to be displayed alongside the books.
