Khanya Hospice is holding a Colour Fun Walk at Scottburgh main beach on September 27, from 09:00 to 16:00. Call or WhatsApp to register for the walk on 072-507-8773. Registration for the walk is on the beach from 07:00 to 09:00. Entry is R50 for adults, R30 for children, and R20 for pensioners. The walk will start at 10:00 after a fun warm-up. There will be a market with local goods on sale, and live music all day. Let your light shine for the fighters, the survivors and the angels. Wear white, bring hope and leave a mark.
A Pet Wellness Day takes place at the Doghouse in Pennington on September 28, from 09:00 until 13:00. It includes consultations for minor medical concerns, health checks, vaccinations, parasite prevention, interactive demo classes, and a retail section.
The Lions Club of Scottburgh is looking for items for recycling (milk cartons and plastic containers); support (old spectacles/glasses, books); warmth for those in need (blankets, knitted or crocheted squares to be made into blankets, knitted or crocheted teddy bears); and food assistance (non-perishable items – help feed families in need). The drop-off point is the corner of Scott and Arbuthnot streets, every Wednesday morning, from 10:00 until 11:30. Your donations make a difference. Recycle, reuse, care and share. Some interesting info from Sam Selesnick. Sam’s grandparents, Piet Wentzel and Lucy Muller, built the famous miniature railway in Scottburgh in the 1950s and ran it until they retired in the 1980s. Piet built the trains and carriages, little rocking horses and the trampolines. Thanks for sharing this memory.
