Wardens, prisoners injured in Wilson’s Cutting accident

Various medical and rescue services attended the scene.

Emergency services braved the wet and cold to help the driver and passengers of a correctional services vehicle which plunged down an embankment at Wilson’s Cutting earlier today.

Three people were seriously injured, plus one with minor injuries.

Lana van Zyl of Med-Evac Ambulance Service said two wardens and two prisoners were people injured in the accident.

The injured were taken to hospital in different ambulances – MedEvac, Netcare 911, Trauma and EMRS each took one.

Road is now open.
