Custom-made wheelchair for ‘Ma’
Paranjuthi Govender was pleased with the purpose-made wheelchair.
Peter Sharp of Uvongo collects bread tags and bottle tops to help raise funds, to purchase wheelchairs for those in need.
He has helped a local resident, Paranjuthi Govender who is well-known as ‘Ma’ from St Michael’s.
She was thrilled to receive a bespoke wheelchair from the Sweetheart Foundation.
Ma’s daughter, Prabashni Bipath approached Peter with a request to assist Ma with her needs. The foundation then made a purpose-made wheelchair to suit Ma’s needs.
Ma and her daughter were pleased with the customised wheelchair.
Prabashni had a wheelchair for her mother, however it was unsuitable and never used. Peter asked if they could donate the redundant wheelchair to South Coast Hospice.
“This was a double benefit all round, I want to thank all the people involved in the collection of tops and tags.”
He appeals for more people, schools and businesses to come on board, to better the lives of those in need.
