It’s that time of year again when the South Coast Herald’s Best of South Coast Readers’ Choice Awards competition kicks off.
Officially, it’ll start this week (July 14) so this serves as ample warning to get the paper – and the two after that – in order to vote for your favourite businesses or companies.
Don’t miss the opportunity to vote.
South Coast Herald manager Michelle Izatt said that more than ever before, local business needs support.
“They have come through countless challenges in the past few years, including Covid lockdown, riots, floods, loadshedding, water issues and crime. They have survived and pushed beyond the barriers and obstacles and are doing their best in difficult times. In many ways, they have exceeded and excelled and your vote to acknowledge their efforts is vital,” she said.
This year there are two stages to the competition, where readers must vote in print only for the first stage.
There will be three print entry forms – July 14, 21 and 28 – where readers must nominate their favourite business in each category.
The top three will be chosen, determined by the highest number of votes in each of the numerous categories.
Stage two voting will give you the option of voting in print or online, where the winners are chosen by majority vote in each of the categories.

Remember, there is only one vote per person per category, so read the fine print in next week’s edition.
Readers can win too, with R10 000 on offer in terms of three lucky draws – the main prize is R5000 and there are two prizes of R2500.
Once you vote, you qualify automatically for the lucky draw.
The competition will be audited, once again, by Chantel Elliott and Co.
