Tribute for life and soul of jazz
Jazz music ran through Bra Bona Nzimande's veins and he brought some of the big players in the music industry to the South Coast many years ago.
The life of jazz aficionado, the late Bra Bona Nzimande who brought the community together through the music genre will be honoured by the recently formed Khosathu House Jazz Club at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre today, September 23.
Born in Bhethani, Nzimande was described as the life and soul of jazz music. The leadership of Khosathu House felt it was important to celebrate his life, while keeping his spirit alive with a musical session, also aimed at developing young jazz artists on the South Coast.
The chairperson of Khosathu House, Mondli Ngcobo said Nzimande was a well-respected figure and excelled in almost everything that he did.
“He was an educator, community developer, events organiser, a successful businessman and an entertainer. Jazz music ran through his veins and he brought some of the big players in the music industry to the South Coast many years ago,” Ngcobo added.
Bra Bona’s wife, Tholi Nzimande thanked Khosathu House for the recognition and remembrance. She said her husband was a social person and that she always wanted to do a tribute to him.
