Over 24 600 high school learners in KZN have benefitted through the Nyala Future Fit Programme – an initiative aimed at providing career guidance and empowerment.
This programme, which began last year, visited 41 schools in the upper parts of KZN to date, and there are hopes that South Coast schools are visited next. In partnership with Careerlinx and Career Connect Group, experts in career advice, the programme conducted workshops in under-resourced communities to help students make informed choices about their future.
The programme targets learners in Grades 9 -12 ensuring that they receive valuable guidance at crucial stages of their academic journey.
The impact of this initiative extends beyond the classroom, as it fosters a sense of hope and ambition among the youth in KZN.
The programme included icebreaker sessions, self-awareness discussions and activities such as ‘Dare to Dream’, where learners could express their aspirations. In addition, they learned about different career categories and industries, helping them better understand the opportunities available.
