Margate beachfront will come alive on Wednesday, October 4 from 10:00 to 16:00.
The Mardi Gras will host Soap Box racing during the day, along with food, arts, craft, games, entertainment and more!

The Amateur Karaoke Association (AKA) will attempt to set a South African Karaoke Record to sing more than 200 songs uninterrupted for 12 hours on the beachfront from 09:00 to 21:00.
Founder of AKA, Gerrie Odendaal said karaoke singers will sing uninterrupted through the day until 19:00, then another group of 14 singers of semi-professionals such as Tweezie, Martie Prinsloo, Rhona Steyn, Kobus JJ, Marius Magnet, Pieter Fires and exciting, young Shamika supported by two local DJs and well-known John Silver and evergreen Gert Potgieter (Pottie) will take over.
“The professional singers will definitely add value to this great occasion. They are Ian King Thunder Struck, complemented by the deadly duo of Louise en Annika van Wyk and ending this event will be a well-established professional singer, Charl van Tonder, a popular South Coast Elvis,” said Odendaal.
No entrance fee at all, yet donations for the benefit of Tidy Towns will be appreciated. The sealed boxes for donations will be placed in front of the music stage.
