Andhra Sabha hosts Raam Bhajan
This year's Raam Bhajan Prayer is rendered by the highly acclaimed Shree Hanuman Raam Bhajan Group from Isipingo.
The Port Shepstone and District Andhra Sabha will host the popular 2023 Raam Bhajan prayer at their hall today, October 7.
All religious and cultural organisations, temple groups and the public are invited to attend.
Supper to the public will be served between 17:00 and 18:00, and the Raam Bhajan prayer and function starts at 18:30.
This year’s prayer is rendered by the highly acclaimed Shree Hanuman Raam Bhajan Group from Isipingo. The prayer has its origins from the Raam Bhajana Festival which is a popular dance and bhajan presentation in praise of Lord Rama.
The auspicious Hindu month of Purtassi (mid-September to mid-October) has commenced and is dedicated to the worship of Maha Vishnu (the preserver).
To mark the start of Purtassi, a flag hoisting was held at the Andhra Vishnu Temple on September 17, and a flag de-hoisting to mark the end of Purtassi will take place on October 17.
