Diwali show a colourful affair
A total of eight decorated vehicles were in this year's float procession.
Diwali is a time of joy, peace, and blessings.
The Port Shepstone Hindu Cultural Federation hosted their much awaited annual Diwali show last Saturday.
The Diwali show started about 15 years ago, with the tradition only being skipped during the Covid-19 pandemic.
A colourful and festive float procession began at the Dick King parking lot and proceeded through the streets of Port Shepstone, ending at the Port Shepstone Civic Centre.
Kevin Govender, vice-chairman of the federation said the event was a great success.
“We had a total of eight decorated vehicles in this year’s float procession. Next year is expected to be even better as it is hoped all 12 temples will take part,” he said.
He thanked the sponsors for their cash and kindness, and to everyone who made the day, including the evening’s
Diwali show at the Port Shepstone Andhra Hall a wonderful experience.
Diwali will be celebrated this Sunday, November 12.
