Spread love to stray animals

To do your share, consider donating to the NPO or even adopting an animal.

It’s that time of year again, for people to show their significant other just how much they love and appreciate them, all in celebration of Valentine’s Day.

However, did you ever stop to think about how much love is shown to neglected and abused animals, not just on this special occasion, but every other day of the year.

For the month of love, Scottburgh-based non-profit, 4 Paws and a Tale Rescue encourages the public to spread the love to stray and neglected animals and to invest in their well-being instead.

“We have been inundated with animals in need of food, shelter and medication, with many pet owners simply unable to keep up with the rising costs of living,” explained Nicky Koekemoer of the animal welfare organisation.

“To ease the burden, the team of volunteers is calling for any donations, either pet-related or monetary, as every little bit helps.”

To do your share, consider donating second-hand goods for resale. A significant portion of daily running costs to help vulnerable animals comes from sales generated by the NPO’s Tale End Charity Shop in Thira Village in Scott Street, Scottburgh.

Any donations of quality, second-hand goods are welcome as these are resold. The revenue is used to feed, medicate and care for vulnerable animals. People can also support the charity shop buy purchasing goods. And no, it is not too late to still get a gift for your loved one as the charity shop has Valentine’s goodies in stock.

Cash donations are welcome, as well as, dog or cat food, blankets, old towels and linen and tick and flea medication.

Should you wish to go the extra mile and open up your heart this Valentine’s Day, perhaps, consider adopting one of these incredible animals and give them a second chance at life.
