JUST IN: Minibus accident leaves 1 dead, 16 injured near Bhoboyi

The vehicle collided with pedestrians walking on the road.

Emergency personnel attended to an accident involving a minibus near Bhoboyi (before Murchison on the N2) this morning.

One person was declared dead on the scene.

Gavin Black, from Mi7, said it’s believed the taxi veered off the road, collided with two or three pedestrians walking along the road, and then continued down an embankment.

Black said paramedics treated 16 people, including three who were seriously injured.

Mi7 was assisted by Med-Evac, Trauma 911 and EMRS. Ray Nkonyeni Municipality was also on the scene.
