Port Edward’s business community has made fabulous prizes available to all who help vote the town to the national finals of KykNet’s Kwêla Town of the Year Competition with the maximum number of votes – 30 SMSes per phone.

“Port Edward is one of the three KZN finalists in the competition, and we are going all out to make it to the finals,” said Peter Brereton, the town’s Kwêla committee chairperson.

Thirty SMSes at R1.50 each cost R45 – a small price to stand a chance to win.

“When Kareedouw won Town of the Year four years ago, we were the runner-up in the national finals. We aim to make the 2024 trophy ours,” said Brereton.

Should Port Edward win, the Lottoland cash prize money of R1 million will go to various town improvement projects to make it even more attractive to visitors.
