WARNING: Protesters take to the streets of Roseneath

Police are on the scene.

There is currently protest action in the Roseneath area opposite Naidoo Memorial School.
According to posts on various social media platforms, the protest began earlier this morning. 
Many motorists were unable to exit or enter Newhaven as roads were blocked by protesters burning tyres.
At about 07:50, protesters were seen making their way to the office of a local ward councillor.
Police are on the scene.
Reasons for this protest are unclear at the moment – this is a developing story.
