Economist gives insights into elections
Dawie Roodt gave insights into South Africa and the world's economy at the Pro Deo Business Breakfast.
The Pro Deo Care Group hosted Dawie Roodt at a Business Breakfast at San Lameer Country Club recently.
Roodt is a Founding Member, Director and the Chief Economist of the Efficient Group.
His newest role is as Chairperson of Efficient Private Clients, a subsidiary of the Group.
He is a well-known South African economist with some 30 years of experience. He is also a presenter on Ontbytsake for the last 15 years.
Many businessmen and women, as well as residents, packed the hall to hear Roodt’s take on the future of South Africa.
He gave insights into the election, the economy, but also the world’s current and near-future economic state. With regards to the election, he encouraged voters to read the various political parties’ manifestos and added that this year’s election will be interesting.
“We are in a period of transition in South Africa, a lot of which will take place in KZN, with regards to the election.”
He also said the Chinese and American economies are doing very well, but the Indian economy is doing exceptionally well and has the strongest rate of growth.
“There are changes throughout the world, and I caution all to safeguard their assets,” he said.
Roodt specialises in monetary and fiscal policy. He follows international and local political developments and analyses the economic consequences thereof. He is also an expert on the economic consequences of crypto assets and also Bitcoin.
Organisers Koos and Lucia Groenewald thanked all who supported the business breakfast and helped with the fundraising for the elderly, frail and cancer sufferers on the South Coast.
After the informative talk guests enjoyed a healthy breakfast.
