‘East meets West’ production on the cards

The team is still busy with casting for 'Dhushman'.

The Bruce Gounder Film Academy and Fable Bridge Studios are in the process of putting together Dhushman (enemy), a theatre production they are hoping to tour with around South Africa.

This ‘East meets West’ type of production will focus on themes such as deceit, jealousy, revenge, and forgiveness and touch on common addictions such as gambling.

The team is currently looking for budding actors to add to their cast which includes local actors Veekram Ramgoolam, Standi Langa, Dean Oswell and Michelle Robertze.

They also require Bollywood dancers, Maskandi artists and other musical/theatre enthusiasts.
To become part of the team or to find out more, contact Veekram on 084 2280470.

The production company is also busy with its upcoming family comedy, Dreamy Dave which tells the tale of an aspiring actor who believes he has made it in the big leagues of the entertainment industry – before even reaching this point.

Auditions were recently held, and the team will begin shooting in a month or two.

“It’s all about following your dreams, and even though Dreamy Dave lives in a fantasy world, he keeps persevering no matter what,” said the academy’s Bruce Gounder.

“With Dhushman and Dreamy Dave in the works, we have a lot to offer the South Coast in terms of boosting tourism and creating opportunities for local talent.”
