Power problems in Port Shepstone and Marburg

The municipality says power will be restored during the course of the day.

Sections of Port Shepstone and Marburg are now into a second day without electricity.

The power outage in Port Shepstone started yesterday (Monday) afternoon.

Ray Nkonyeni Municipality said the power failure is affecting the Port Shepstone CBD, including the beachfront, Athlone Drive, Bisset Street and Oribi Plaza, due to a fault which caused damage to a switchgear.

The municipality said electricians have worked through the night to establish the actual fault, saying that power will be restored during the course of the day.

Meanwhile, in some parts of Marburg and Umbango, residents have been without electricity since Saturday, July 20.

This is due to a breakage on Highland Avenue near Palmview.
