KZN cops search for 15-man cash-in-transit gang

It was a very close call for the guards.

Police in KwaZulu-Natal are on the lookout for about 15 men who attempted to rob a cash delivery vehicle on the R612 road in the Dumisa area (Sawoti) last Saturday afternoon.

Police spokesman, Colonel Robert Netshiunda, said the men reportedly ambushed the cash delivery truck and shot at it until it came to a stop.

“The guards were able to alight from the truck and hide in the bush,” said Netshiunda.

Glen Preston of Med-Evac said paramedics treated one of the guards for a hand injury.
