Passionate dancer aims high

Her biggest goal is to build a shelter for abused children, women and men.

Umzinto’s Yashna Singh is a local dancer who intends to make her name known internationally in the near future.

Singh (31) has been dancing since the age of three and has always been passionate about the art.

“I’ve been dancing my whole life,” she explained.

“I performed at my schools growing up, and more recently, I performed at the Ugu Film Festival and at Ifafa Beach for a non-profit event.”

Singh’s goals are to shoot music videos and perform at sold-out shows, both locally and internationally, but her biggest goal is to build a shelter for abused children, women and men.

She hopes that through dance, she is able to create a big platform that enables her to accomplish this.

“I hope that one day I am able to inspire our youth as well.”

“I have learnt to trust in myself, believe in my abilities and never give up no matter how tough it gets. This is what every person aspiring to be someone great one day should keep in mind.”
