Join the rock hunt this V-Day

Help Miss Kitty feed feral cats through a fun initiative.

Cat-crazy Bella Tia Hogendoorn (14), fondly known as Miss Kitty, will be hosting a Valentine’s Day/weekend rock hunt.

Bella’s colourful painted rocks and paper mache cats (which are like characters from the movie Secret Life of Pets) are made from recycled bottles and paper.

For this year’s Valentine’s Day rock hunt – bring the children and your friends to find the beautifully painted rocks hidden from Shelly Beach to Southbroom and everywhere in between.

Everyone is encouraged to trade cat food (wet or dry) or purchase the rocks or paper mache cats to support Bella’s mission to care for the feral cats of the South Coast.

More than a year ago, it all began with Bella’s evening walks, feeding the stray cats who quickly came to rely on her kindness.

Today, Miss Kitty supports multiple cat colonies in Margate and Manaba.

“These unique pieces of my art help sustain the colonies and bring joy to supporters. With your help, I can continue this vital work,” she said. Every contribution goes directly towards Bella’s registered non-profit organisation which not only helps to feed the feral cats but provides medical care and funding for sterilisations.

* There is a special clue from Miss Kitty to you: Check out who is hiding around the Margate Mardi Gras on Friday, February 14. Lots of fantastic prizes also to be won!

To redeem your prize, any size cat food donation will be greatly welcomed.
