Congolese to hold march in Sheppie
Sage Masamba Jizas, said the reason for the march is to support and mourn for the loved ones they have lost back home.

Congolese nationals who live in Port Shepstone have planned a peaceful march to the office of the mayor of Ray Nkonyeni Municipality (RNM), Zodwa Mzindle, on Tuesday, February 18.
The march will start from Chris Hani Square (Dick King parking) and finish at the mayor’s office.
Speaking on behalf of the Congolese community, Sage Masamba Jizas said the reason for the march is to support and mourn for the loved ones they have lost back home.
He said that they have lost many family members in the Goma province due to the war between the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Rwanda and the M23 rebel group.
“We are not happy that we are here, but our families are suffering and dying; we would also like the municipality to support us. We are also supporting our military and the military from South Africa. All we want is peace in our country.”
In a letter to RNM, the Congolese community requests help from the United Nations and Southern African Development Community to help maintain peace in DRC, where many people have died.
Superintendent S’fiso Ngcaku of Law Enforcement in RNM, who chaired the meeting, said a meeting was called to get the applicant’s legal documents and make sure that nothing illegal occurs on the day of the march.
He said that working with Saps, they will find a way to allow the march to happen.
