Pageant finalist wants to leave a lasting legacy
The young contestant said this title would not just be a crown, it would be a tool to make a difference.
Simoné Lötter (31) from Sea Park wants to continue her mission of service and inspire others to be better.
This is what the former Suid-Natal High learner aspires to achieve if she wins the title at the Mr and Miss National Supreme South Africa pageant, which will be held at the Uvongo Town Hall on March 29.
“I can leave a lasting legacy, one that not only represents beauty but strength, resilience and an unwavering commitment to helping others,” she said.
As a resilient young woman, Lötter has faced many challenges throughout her life.
Growing up in a household with limited resources, she experienced firsthand what hardship can feel like.
Yet, despite financial struggles, the love and care from her parents never wavered.
“My parents taught me the power of love – a love that transcended material wealth. I learned early on that no matter how little you have, you can still give,” she said.
Her mother, Yvonne Lötter, instilled in her the values of charity and kindness, and it is these values that continue to guide her today.
From a young age, she assisted her mother with feeding schemes, and when she died, Lötter took it upon herself to carry on her legacy.
She joined Rotary, an international charity organisation, where she embraced its motto of ‘Service Above Self.’
“It is through this motto that I found my true sense of purpose. Giving to others, especially to those who cannot repay you, brings me the greatest joy and fulfilment,” she said.
Lötter is also a professional belly dancer and the ambassador of both Princesses to Queens, finishing school for young women in leadership, as well as the ambassador for the South African Animal Cancer Association. She also takes care of her own feral cat colony in Port Shepstone.
Lötter said this title would not just be a crown; it would be a tool to make a difference.
“With this opportunity, I would amplify the voices of those who are often unheard and bring awareness to causes that matter. People go through struggles that are often invisible to others, and I want to be the person who stands up for them, to offer hope and bring about change.”
