Exciting year ahead for art club

The club is back in full force, so watch this space!

Artists of the 53-year-old local art club, Art by the Sea, recently had their AGM and the 2025 committee under the leadership of artist Maria da Cruz was elected.

The full programme for the year is still in the planning stages, but it can be revealed that an additional exhibition, over and above the normal annual exhibition, is on the cards for July and August.

This will be a Japanese-inspired Wabi Sabi and Minimalist Exhibition – the first of its kind in South Africa. Art disciplines like Wabi Sabi fine art paintings, Kintsugi pottery, Bonsai tree art, Ikebana floral art and Minimalist Sculpture art will be forming part of the exhibition. Indeed, something to look forward to!

Persons interested in the art club are welcome to attend the weekly sessions in the Margate Art Museum on Tuesdays at 09:00 as spectators to experience what the club is about.

The club fee is a meagre R150 for the year.

To eventually qualify as a member, the person will be requested to show some of his/her artwork and be required to regularly attend the Tuesday sessions.
