Tweni Tidy Town to the rescue
The overgrown verges along Rethman Drive pose a danger to motorists and pedestrians.
Tweni Tidy Town is cutting back the verges at the entrance and exit roads onto Rethman Drive in Umtentweni.
This road should be maintained by the Department of Transport, but the verges are hopelessly overgrown.
The cutback will enable drivers to have a better view of oncoming cars in the hope of preventing a tragic accident.
This Saturday and Sunday, when there is less traffic, the Umtentweni Improvement Project and Tweni Conservancy will organise a cutback of the vegetation that is obstructing pedestrians and cyclists on the rest of Rethman Drive.
Help from community police forum patrollers or security companies who can assist with traffic control for a few hours would be appreciated.
