Shoreline Challenge kicks off soon
The Mzimkhulu HOs encourage companies and community groups to take up the challenge and clean-up the beaches at the same time.
The Shoreline Challenge is an annual South Coast community event organised by the Mzimkhulu Honorary Officers (HOs)
The challenge is to walk from Oslo Beach to Port Edward, along the beach (for most of the way).
It is broken down into eight different walks of between 5km to 7km held on the Sunday closest to the spring tides, over the course of four months from May to August.
Mzimkhulu HOs are partnering with Boogie Babes and National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) during this year’s Shoreline Challenge. Boogie Babes will join the walks and focus on a beach clean-up.

The NSRI will host two of the start and finish points, where they will be selling breakfast and drinks.
Other local partners will be providing security, medical support, and logistics over the course of the eight events.
An entry fee of R50 will cover your participation each Sunday.
Walkers who complete all eight legs of the event will be rewarded with a Shoreline Challenge 2025 finisher T-shirt, which will give you bragging rights for at least a year.
The Mzimkhulu HOs encourage companies and community groups to take up the challenge, clean up the beaches, learn fascinating facts about the beautiful coastline, and enjoy a Sunday morning stroll along the beach.

Registration and coffee is at 07.30. Walks start at 08:00.
