Victory for MK Student Movement in Umdoni

The newly elected secretary, Zandile Luthuli, said the students elected them to represent their interests at the Coastal KZN TVET College As-salaam campus.

The MK Student Movement beat other organisations in SRC elections held at Coastal KZN TVET College As-salaam Campus in Umdoni recently.

The good news was shared and celebrated on various social media platforms as a victory for the organisation which is advocating for free education for all at higher education institutions.

In a public statement, the organisation thanked students who voted for it and promised to represent their interests at the Coastal KZN College, especially those from previously marginalised backgrounds.

The newly elected secretary, Zandile Luthuli, said the students elected them to represent their interests at the As-salaam campus and thanked the MK Party for supporting their struggle for free education.

“The MK Student Movement is the only students’ organisation that understands the needs of students of Coastal KZN TVET Colleges and their challenges at higher education and training. We will continue fighting for the rights of the previously disadvantaged students at tertiary institutions for better and equal education,” said Luthuli.

Luthuli stated that at As-salaam campus, the organisation will strive to keep students informed about their developmental matters, and to ensure that they improve their academics and skills that will assist them to change their lives for the better.

“Our mandate will be to fight for free education at higher institutions and take complaints from the students to the management of the As-salaam Campus. All issues affecting students will be discussed and resolved with management. We will represent all student interests as the elected SRC leaders. We will fight injustices at the As-salaam campus and report back to students who elected us to SRC council,” said Luthuli.
