Ugu’s MM officially introduced

Vela Mazibuko said that the public should be able to suggest solutions to their water issues, so that they can act according to their needs.

Ugu District Municipality’s mayor Skhumbuzo Mqadi officially introduced the new municipal manager, Vela Mazibuko, at a media briefing recently.

Mazibuko said that he has always had a vison and a goal of where he can take the municipality to.

“Even when I was still HOD, I’ve always had a feeling that the municipality was taken away from their rightful owners and now the basis of my vision is to give it back to the people.”

Mazibuko said that the public should be able to suggest solutions to their water issues, so that they can act according to their needs.

“Umzumbe Local Municipality has suffered with the delivery of water. We are working tirelessly to fix those issue and supply water to the people.”

Mqadi also spoke about the deputy mayor post, as Ugu doesn’t have one at present.

“It’s not just about electing a deputy mayor, we will first have to find a replacement for a councillor and then start another process of electing a deputy mayor.”

Mqadi concluded that they are still working on the position in question.
