Learn about light pollution

Southport greenies care about the coast's wildlife and conserving a healthy environment and want you to get involved.

Light pollution has been found to affect human circadian rhythms.

The dark-sky movement encourages the use of full-cut-off fixtures that cast little or no light upward in public areas and generally to encourage communities to adopt lighting regulations.

To learn more about this, the Bendigo Conservation Group encourages everyone not to miss a fascinating talk by Dominique Coetzee at Die Local on Sunday, June 15 at 14:00.

She will talk about light pollution awareness and the dark sky initiative.

It will be an enlightening talk about the detrimental effect of lights used at night on the nocturnal and diurnal animals in the surrounding area.
