Lt-Col ‘Seevs’ will be missed

The top ranking policeman was appointed in 1994, and has moulded many juniors to progress in their ranks over the years.

After 38 years of service, Lieutenant-Colonel Dewchand Seevnarain, has retired.

In fact, Saps Port Shepstone has not been the same after his last day on March 31.

During his tenure, he was instrumental in ensuring that Saps Port Shepstone was the recipient of many accolades.

He was a true public servant – a person needing help would personally request him by his name ‘Seevs’.

Seevnarain was appointed in 1994, and moulded many juniors to progress in their ranks, and take positions of leadership in the province.

He was meticulous in his administration and always abided by the code of conduct which governs every police member.

A true family man, he is never seen without his beautiful grandchildren.

Saps, and especially the Port Shepstone branch, have realised his true value and the impact he has made at the station – a true ambassador of Batho Pele.
