‘Dark Sky’ talk makes meeting more appealing

Paddy Norman, Conservancies KZN representative, praised the small dedicated committee for its enthusiastic approach.

An interesting talk can draw a crowd and this was the case at a recent Umtamvuna Marine Conservancy meeting held at the Port Edward Country Golf Club.

Chairperson Renée Alcock said that attending meetings can often be a drudge.

“To make it more appealing Dominique Coetzee from the Munster Conservancy was invited to share on her passion for the Dark Sky movement, which aims to maintain nature’s biorhythms by reducing light pollution,” she said.

Paddy Norman (Conservancies KZN representative), praised the small dedicated committee for its enthusiastic approach.

Alcock thanked the committee, plus the Port Edward residents and ratepayers, Ugu conservancies, sponsors and loyal supporters.

“We will continue to work on preventing poaching, eradicating alien invasive plants, and also focus on including and educating the youth.”
