Multiple injuries in N2 accident
Patients sustained injuries ranging from minor to critical, with one fatality.
A vehicle accident on the N2 near Scottburgh left one person dead and several others injured on Sunday.
In the early hours of the morning, IPSS Medical Rescue responded to reports of the accident near the Scottburgh off-ramp.
Paramedics established that a light motor vehicle had rear-ended a bakkie resulting in both drivers losing control.
Patients sustained injuries ranging from minor to critical, with one fatality.
Two people were trapped in the wreckage and were extricated by Umdoni Fire Department.
Two patients with critical injuries were stabilised on scene by an IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support paramedic before being transported to hospital for further care.
Seven other patients were treated and transported to hospital by EMRS and other services providers.
